POV Statement: The drinking fouintain is not designed to suite the needs of people how taller than the average adult. There needs to be an extension to the drinking fountain that allows tall people to get drinks comfortably without back pain.
Ideation
In the beginning of this project I thought about many things that are in buildings that I use without really thinking about it. These things included stairs, elevator buttons, sinks, drinking fountains, and door handles.
Define
First Prototype
My first Prototype was similar to a spring so it could move up and down and then return to its main position by itself.
This prototype uses a single tube of plastic pvc piping along with a metal wire formed into a spring.
Second and Third Prototype
My second and third prototypes are of the same idea but they show different things about the project. The first of the two shows the proposed size and materials. It also is a working model.
This prototype uses plasic pvc piping along with a plasic conduit that allow the extension to bend and stay in a shape.
My third prototype shows the movement of the extension through the use of a single material.
